How Often Should You Get Professional Teeth Cleaning?

I had my wisdom tooth removed at Burlington Family Dental Centre recently. The staff was nice, and the dentist Dr. D did a good job. It didn't hurt much, and they explained everything well. Afterward, they told me how to take care of my mouth. Also, they followed up with me next day about how am I doing. The Importance of Dental X-rays

In order to provide proper oral care, x-rays are important as part of typical treatment. X-rays allow our dentists to examine your mouth for signs of gum disease, tooth decay, bone loss, and other complications that may not be apparent by the superficial examination of the teeth and gums.

Dental cleanings consist of scaling and polishing mostly. It takes about 45 minutes (also referred to as 3 units) for the average person. However, if they have neglected their teeth for a while, more scaling or soft tissue management may be recommended. Sometimes we need to do a bit of flossing in between teeth. Usually, we incorporate a dental exam in with one of your cleanings every year to measure pocket size, x-rays, tooth stability, gum health, teeth grinding, wear and tear, occlusion (your bite) and so on.
